The University of North Texas recognizes the importance of safe travel by faculty, staff, students, and guests for university-related purposes. Due to varying health, safety and security concerns throughout the world, UNT must approve all travel to high-risk international destinations.
Check to see if your destination is considered to be high-risk. High-risk destinations are countries and regions that meet one or more of the following characteristics:
- Have level 3 (reconsider travel) or 4 (do not travel) U.S. Department of State Travel Advisories
- Have a level 3 CDC Travel Advisory
- Excluded from the university's international travel insurance policy (will be notified by Risk Management Services if this is the case)
Travel to high-risk destinations must be approved by the International Risk Oversight Committee (IROC).
