The University of North Texas recognizes the importance of safe travel by faculty, staff, students and guests for university-related purposes. Due to varying health, safety and security concerns throughout the world, UNT must approve all travel to high-risk international destinations.
Check to see if your destination is considered to be high risk. High-risk destinations are countries and regions that meet one or more of the following characteristics.
- Has a Level 3 (reconsider travel) or Level 4 (do not travel) U.S. Department of State Travel Advisories
- Has a Level 3 CDC Travel Advisory
- Excluded from the university's international travel insurance policy: travelers will be notified by Risk Management Services if this is the case.
Travel to high-risk destinations must be approved by the International Risk Oversight Committee, IROC.
Register Your Travel
Please note: International travelers are required to register their travel four weeks in advance to ensure appropriate supervisor and risk management approval is in place as needed for reimbursement and/or insurance qualification.
