Severe Weather Potential for Saturday Afternoon

The possibility for severe weather exists today for our area this afternoon. The National Weather Service has updated the possible threats with the storms to now include the slight possibility of a tornado. The areas of concern for the possibility of tornados includes areas north of I-20 and east of I-35. However, the main threats with the storms will be large hail and damaging winds.

 

The timing for this event will be between the 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM hours for the I-35 corridor. Those who have outdoor activities or any large events on campus will need to keep an eye on the weather situation late this afternoon and in to the evening hours. If severe weather does strike, be ready to move people indoors and take cover.
